beautiful thing

40 weeks and 3 days
of praying;
praying that all would go well,
that he would be perfect in every way.

to have all those prayers answered
in one bright and shining instant
when he slipped
from that world into ours,
into his 9 pound 8 oz body
and straight into my waiting arms,
taking my breath away
reminding me of what life is all about,
and letting me taste
one of those sweet moments
that are simply unparalleled
to all else.

to give life
to witness the miracle
all over again
for the first time. . .

it's a beautiful, beautiful thing.

i am reveling.

Congratulations to all! Having children on relatives birthdays seems to be a wonderful tradition in this blessed family of ours. He is beautiful and half-grown already. My own nine, nearly ten pound babies were my most content in the early months. Enjoy each moment. We look forward to welcoming him into the family in person.

Oh, man, Jen, he is so freaking beautiful. You must be so freaking proud. What a beautiful angel. I'm so glad you're posting lots of pics of your cute 5-some. You're a very lucky girl! And you deserve it!

But, no name!! It better be good to make us wait this long :-) Do they let you wait that long in the states?

Way to go, girl!!! Did you enjoy your labor/birth?
