guilty pleasure

my mother-in-law
returned from paris just last night.
and because she is both devoted and thoughtful,
she came back with
some cote d'or chocolate
and a handful of design mags for me.

tonight i just may find myself
laying on my bed
listening to the pitter-patter of the rain
sipping tea
and reading design mags.

what's your guilty pleasure?

Oh that sounds divine, a trip to Paris...just reading that your mil just returned from there is a wow thought to me. I'm sure I'll never get there...lol. The magazines do look enticing, and chocolates with them while the rain falls..yum. That sounds like the ultimate relaxation!~~ My guilty pleasure would be...a great novel, & reading nonstop, with hot tea at my side.

I recently did read a great novel, pretty much non-stop and wrote the author a note on her blog and she returned with a blog comment to me. What a treat that was...'meeting' Laura Frantz, I don't know if you read historical fiction, the two she wrote are..' The Frontiersmans Daughter' and 'Courting Morrow Little'. Just thought I'd mention this in case you read like I do or like too.

I share the design magazine guilty pleasure, I love spending time in the evenings reading and flipping. I also love to hole up in the bathroom for a long hot bath, face scrubs, and painting my fingers & toes. Oh, and reading/sorting recipes, too many things!

It's a warm open fire in winter with a glass of red and a box of real chocolates which I would not eat all of...cosy blankets or cushions, a cannot-stop-reading novel or the thickest Sunday UK newspapers with my best friend alongside me.

It's a hammock in the French summer sunshine, lined with blankets and cushions to wrap against any prevailing breeze. On a table within reach, will be a jug of iced gin and tonic or Pimms, plus something to nibble. Several books to read between drifting into dreams as my leg kicks the ground to set the hammock rocking with no interruption from anyone at all!

Hmmmmm....I think it would laying atop a fluffy blanket on the grass at the park, reading a great book, and sipping cold lemonade. (Actually, happened once----sigh).
